Only one state still to ratify ERA amendment
A recent ratification of a long-open constitutional amendment shows that even amendments which have passed their deadline are still viable. We have only one more state needed to put women on the same legal footing as men.
The amendment is very short, and does not specify anything radical (at this point.) "Section 1. Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of sex." There has been a lot of fear and misunderstandings about what it really says, but it's quite simple.
